DESCRIPTION:
Miniature: Watercolor and gouache portrait of an elderly man with a human skull off to the side and the Latin phrase "Deus Felicitas Homo Miseria" which roughly translates into either "Happiness is misery" or "God is happiness, man is misery," painted on ivory, round gold pendant with fixed jump ring bail, pendant measures 52mm x 57mm including jump ring, unsigned with writing on the back glass (see photo). CONDITION:
Portrait in excellent condition overall, frame with light discoloration to gold, front glass has a crack running through the center and the back glass has chattering around the edges.
